South Adelaide played with the tenacity and endeavour that brought them to within 2 goals of North Adelaide and Central District at three quarter time in their previous two starts. It was the same tenacity that made us feel very fortunate to walk away from Hickinbotham Oval with a 1 goal win in round 15.
It was with much pride that Ben Mules accepted the Carey Darley Cup from Glenelg legend, Peter Carey in the Vice President's Room after the game. From a Glenelg point of view it was a positive to have an even contribution from the playing group. Ten goal kickers, an even spread of tackles, hard things and possessions suggests that the load was shared. We will identify the areas for improvement and work on them to be ready for this Sunday when we play Norwood, the most improved team in the competition and the most consistent team since round 5.
Once again we benefited from outstanding crowd support and we look forward to seeing you back at Gliderol Stadium on Sunday.
Congratulations to Darcy Armfield on making his debut on Saturday.
