Tim Lawrence

Name: Tim Lawrence
Nickname: It depends on where I am. It's 'Lawrie' if I am back home at Bordertown or 'Cob' if I am up in the Adelaide hills at Hahndorf. Anywhere else I don't really have one.
D.O.B.: 22/10/1976
Position/s: C.O.E. U18 Head Coach
Seasons at Glenelg: 2011
I basically played all my football at Bordertown in our South East Zone. I was an average footballer at best (ask Bung)and played 114 games for the club-retiring at age 23 due to general wear and tear on my body (and poor management of).
I started coaching in 1995 and went on to have various coaching/development roles at both Bordertown and Hahndorf football clubs (with a break for a couple of years from 2002-2004).
More recently (2007-2010) I have been working full time with the AFL in the Northern Territory; initially for the AFL Northern Territory and then the Northern Territory Football Club (NT Thunder) in talent pathway programs. Whilst primarily I was involved with Talent Development Management I also had coaching/development roles with the senior (AFLQ) and the U18 and U16 teams at the AFL National Championships.
During my four seasons in Central Australia (I was based in Alice Springs) Liam Jurrah (Melbourne), Troy Taylor (Richmond), Roland Ah Chee (Gold Coast) and Curtly Hampton (GWS) were all drafted, joining Alice Springs' Matt Campbell (North Melbourne) in AFL ranks. It was an exciting time for football in the Red Centre and there is plenty of talent to uncover there yet!
